For more than 20 years, Hoosiers with disabilities have gathered at the Council’s annual conference to collectively strengthen the advocacy base, refine personal skills and increase knowledge of disability issues.
This year’s conference theme, “Independence: Achieving the Good Life with Choice and Support”, will explore the progress that has been made to ensure individuals with disabilities are able to exercise their right to make choices and to control the decisions in their lives and will also examine the many challenges that still exist. This right to self-determination includes decisions about where to live, decisions about work, and all the other daily decisions most adults make without a second thought.
