Kids First presents the Kids on the Block Educational Puppet Shows to children and adult groups throughout Tippecanoe County. In honor of Disability Awareness Month, on March 16, 2012 Kids First has invited two representatives from the The Kids on the Block International Performing Troupe to train up to 20 Oakland High School Students and community volunteers to become Kids First Puppeteers. Training includes a performance highlighting The Kids First topics, hands-on experience in a Japanese style of puppetry, instruction in the art of answering questions, character development skills and much, much more! The workshop is a morale booster for puppeteers - it will lead to upbeat rehearsals and performances! Kids First presents a variety of Disability Awareness Puppet Programs and depends on volunteers to present these shows.

The fair is scheduled for Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 9am to 1pm at New Horizon United Methodist Church, 611 East 53rd Street, Anderson, IN 46013. Guests will be Em~POWERED, En~COURAGED, and En~ABLED. This year?s guest speaker will be Kaye Arnett with MetLife Center for Special Needs Planning at 10:30am. Erik is an actor, writer, producer, speaker and member of the comedy group Broken Lizard, probably best known for his role as "Rabbit" in the hit comedy Super Troopers. He has written, produced and starred in all of Broken Lizards' films including Puddle Cruiser, Super Troopers, Club Dread, and Beerfest. Growing up, Erik was missing something important...a leg. Born without a fibula, Erik learned to walk, play sports, and even became team captain of his high school baseball team, all with a wooden leg.
